Throughout this year, I have been working hard to establish the West Coast Climate Action Network (WE-CAN), the biggest initiative I have ever founded. www.westcoastclimateaction.ca

The climate emergency is relentlessly real, and through WE-CAN we are supporting all of BC’s 350+ climate action groups and organizations, amplifying their messages and encouraging people to sign onto their calls for climate action.

By November 1st we had 191 member organizations, and we have issued 26 editions of our weekly WE-CAN News, reaching 1000+ climate leaders across BC.

We have done all this with 100% volunteers, on a $600 budget. We need to grow, and push harder, but for this we need your support. We need to raise $25,000, and I have kicked things off personally with a $10,000 donation, to demonstrate my commitment.

We need it to advance our work:

• to support our work connecting BC’s 350 different climate action groups,
• to promote their climate action work,
• to build on our engagement with Indigenous climate initiatives, and
• to engage with social justice groups, green businesses, colleges, labour unions, religious congregations, and other environmental groups.

Can you help? Your support will enable us to work together to fight this looming catastrophe. You can contribute through our GoFundMe page, or directly. If you are willing to donate directly, you will avoid the 1.9% GoFundMe processing fee. WE-CAN is a registered incorporated society, but not a registered charity, so we cannot issue income tax receipts. We can, however, send you our deepest gratitude.

To Donate Directly

1: To donate by Interac e-transfer

Send your donation to lily@westcoastclimateaction.ca  Note: we have auto-deposit privileges, but if you are including an Interac e-Transfer security question, please let us know the answer.

2: To make an Internal Transfer

If you bank with VanCity Credit Union or an affiliate you will not need to pay Interac service charges. After logging into your account and filling out the required fields in the “Transfer Money” menu, select “Another Member” as the recipient. You will be asked for our WE-CAN Relationship Number (#91334068) and our Account: “Business Chequing”.

3: To make a small monthly donation

If you prefer to make a small monthly donation using Interac e-transfer, select “Recurring Transfer”.

4: To donate by cheque
